Katy Lemay est une illustratrice d’expérience et passionnée qui possède un style bien à elle, qui est celui du collage. On peut retrouver les collages intuitifs et surréalistes de Katy dans les magazines, journaux, livres pour enfants, publicités et animations web/télé.  Son travail est publié partout au Canada ainsi qu’aux États-Unis et en Europe. Elle fait également partie du répertoire de Culture à l’école où elle donne des ateliers dans les écoles primaires et secondaires.

Ces dernières années elle a eu envie d’imprimer les images qu’elle conçoit sur d'autres supports que le papier d’où est venu l’envie d’explorer la sérigraphie et le transfert sur tissus. En créant la collection Tablewear par Katy Lemay elle explore la production artisanale de produits liés à l’art de la table .

 

Katy a récemment profité d'une visibilité importante avec la production d'un documentaire à La Fabrique Culturelle portant sur son travail artistique sur la mémoire oubliée. Elle a également obtenu une bourse du Conseil des arts et lettres du Québec lui octroyant une résidence artistique au Monastère des Augustines dont les oeuvres ont été créés à partir de tissus patrimoniaux.

Katy Lemay is an experienced and passionate illustrator who has a unique style of her own. Katy's intuitive and surreal collages can be found in magazines, newspapers, children's books, advertisements and web/TV animations. Her work is published across Canada as well as in the United States and Europe. She is also part of the Quebec Culture in the Schools program where she gives workshops in primary and secondary schools.

 

Recently, she wanted to print the images she designs on media other than paper, from which came the desire to explore screen printing and transfer onto fabrics. By creating Tablewear collection by Katy Lemay, she explores the artisanal production of items related to the art de la table.

 

Katy recently enjoyed significant exposure with the production of a Quebec documentary at La Fabrique Culturelle about her artistic work on forgotten memory. She also obtained a scholarship from the Conseil des arts et lettres du Québec granting her an artistic residency at the Monastère des Augustines in Old Quebec City.  Her artwork was created from heritage fabrics belonging to Augustine nuns.
